YMCA John Island Camp is seeking skilled individuals with a background in Culinary Arts to join our team coordinating hand managing our kitchen.
YMCA John Island Camp is an overnight summer camp for youth ages 6-17 and hosts around 120 campers and staff at any given time. In the unique setting of the North Shore, the Kitchen Manager can expect full support and guidance in creating the menu, ordering food through Sysco, cooking and food service delivery, and general management of staff.
As Kitchen Manager, candidates will be responsible for the creation, delivery and assessment of a nutritious menu. With the leadership of the Kitchen Manager, kitchen staff will receive guidance, coaching and feedback while providing three stable meals per day as well as extra snacks.
This opportunity provides candidates to excel in their field and put their studies to the test in the beautiful setting of the North Shore of Lake Huron.
Contracts and compensation are flexible, with a current start date of May 23, 2023, and contract end date of September 1, 2023.
Required Qualifications: Standard First Aid and CPR C, Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, Safe Food Handlers Certification, experience working in Camping and/or food services
