Do you offer online classes?

At this time, all classes are facilitated in-person and all students are expected to attend class. In the event of any emergencies, please review the Chef School’s Attendance Policy.

What textbook does the Chef School use?

We are currently using The Professional Chef: The Culinary Institute of America 10 th Edition. This copy was released in September 2024 and is the most recent edition of the textbook.

What is included in your knife kit?

We partner with Victorinox and Browne for all the knives and tools you will need during your studies. This is a list of all items included in your Knife Kit: 1 x 4” Paring Knife 1 x 8” Victorinox Fibrox Knife 1 x 6” Flexible Boning Knife 1 x 10” Round Sharpening Steel 1 x 10.25” Curved Serrated Knife 1 x 2.25” Bird’s Peak Paring Knife 1 x Black Vegetable Peeler 1 x silicone spatula 1 x wooden spoon 1 x stainless steel tong 1 x stainless steel balloon whisk Everything comes assembled in a Victorinox embroidered knife carrying case.

Does the school have student housing on campus?

At this time, our campus does not have any student housing options available. However, we do work with a settlement agency by the name of Adrois. All prospective students interested in using their services may contact Chef School Administration for further details and contact information.

Does Chef School offer payment plans?

Yes! You are only required to make the $500.00 non-refundable registration fee payment at the time of your application. Four weeks prior to your scheduled start date, you will receive two invoices. The first invoice will require a payment of 25% of your tuition costs and $620.00 food cost. The second invoice will be for the Chef Store for your textbook, uniform and materials fee in the amount of $831.12.

Is your school accessible by transit?

Yes. We’re located at 5732 Kennedy Road, Mississauga, close to major bus routes and highways. Free parking is also available for students who drive.

Do you host any events or info sessions?

Yes—we run seasonal open houses and info events. These are great for meeting the team, seeing the space, and getting a feel for the school. Upcoming dates are always listed on our events page .

How early should I apply?

As early as possible! Spots fill quickly, especially in the January and September intakes. We recommend applying 2–3 months before your intended start date so that your spot is reserved.
